If you really want to know what goes on inside the Big Banks, here’s the one for you.
Unlike most books about investment banking, it gives the real, gritty, unvarnished view of a long term insider from what must surely be one of the Top 5 banks (Nox calls it ‘The Most Successful Bank in the Universe’ and personally I’m inclined to guess that this may well be the simple truth… but she doesn’t reveal the name).
If you have not worked at one of those banks yourself, ‘Graveyards of the Banks’ will shock you. The bullying, the wasteful bureaucracy, the filthy work floors and the angry, sleep deprived hordes of bankers. Nox even questions the efficiency of the entire operation. ‘Whatever we were doing, we were not maximizing shareholder value.’

“I really liked the character Nyla.” ” I also learned a lot about finance and banks in this book. It took me a while to […] Continue reading
